FSX File Transfer from Internal Hard Drive To External Hard Drive?

Ok well I play Microsoft Flight Simulator X and i am about out of memory on this Hard Drive. I have an external hard drive and it is a 1TB hard drive :D anyways can i move some of the files like the sim objects to my external hard drive and it still work or will that not work? Any thoughts would help Thanks
