Can i change my belly ring at two months?

i think it's healed pretty well. it never got infected and i never had any problems with it. i clean in twice a day, and extra good whenever i go swimming or whatever. it DOESN'T get crusty anymore, but if i squeze it some puss comes out. it doesn't hurt, it's not red or anything. i have a sterling silver ring that i want too put in, it's not heavy what so ever. ehh, does it sound okay to do? i mean, i talked too a guy who pierces and he said my body probably healed faster than some peoples and if it isn't crusy it's fine.. i'm just not suuuuure.
