Does the carrier ask for ID when ordering off the Internet?

Ordering some stuff online worth $300. Using a credit card for the first time. Having it shipped to my friends house since I'm barely ever home to receive the package. Have yet to get an ID. When the package arrives is it a requirement to show ID in order for them to hand it over? Or will they take it back to the post office and ask for it to be picked up? Idk if my card and location matters but it's a citi card visa and bx,ny.
